In this recent Fireside Chat, I sat down with Michael Taylor, CEO & Founder of Environmental Surface Solutions. We looked at supplementary approaches to fighting COVID-19 and other pathogens, with a special focus on environmental solutions for not only eradicating but also protecting facilities from future contamination.

Q: Let’s talk a little bit about what ESS is and what you do, starting off with the proprietary application technology. Tell us about what the company does?
A: Our proprietary technology involves the highest level of electrostatic deployment of a product. What is an electrostatic product or what is an electrostatic deployment? Are you familiar with powder coating? Think about us enveloping the space in powder coating, wrapping all the touchpoints. We are positively charging atoms, looking for a negative, and it’s been charged coming out. We are wrapping in and making sure we are working with physics, not mops, rags, and spray bottles. We are working with physics to wrap and make sure that we’re not missing anything. Our electrostatics is the highest level electrostatic and we’re actually charging particulates for over 60 seconds.
What is so important about that? Think about your TV set. We have an analog TV and then we’re digital, and we started from four ATP then we’ve gone to 10 ATP. What we are doing is we are improving the definition, the pixels, and the covering. What’s so important about our product being charged for 60 seconds is that we’re getting full coverage. We’re filling in all those voids as that charge goes for 60 seconds. We net it together, covering and making sure that we’re totally protecting and decontaminating the space…
