Q: Let’s talk about the purpose behind Health Grizzly. What was the mission or premise behind you launching Health Grizzly?

A: Sure! Our vision for Health Grizzly really is to make accessing healthcare as easy as it is to do anything else online. There’s no reason why that can’t be the case and the reality is, right now it’s not. So our mission is very straightforward: it’s to find people the healthcare that they need that fits their individual needs. We’re doing that by bringing the vast and growing universe of virtual care together with personal health guides to help people find that care.

The reality is that consumers in the US, especially, are paying more and more money year over year for healthcare. Consumers are the second-highest spender on healthcare behind only the Federal Government, which is just absolutely astonishing. And yet, only about 12% of consumers have the health literacy needed to be able to successfully navigate the system on their own.

It’s very complicated, it’s very challenging, and there are a lot of options. Options are good, but you’ll also have to make sure that, if there are a lot of options, you find the right type of care for you so that you, as the actual consumer of the healthcare, are able to improve your health. That’s what we do at Health Grizzly, we help people find that care…
