In Episode 9 of our series Courageous Conversations, available on YouTube and through our Podcast, I explored Neuralink, Elon Musk’s implantable brain-computer interface (BCI). I also give my predictions for the future of implantable wearables and BCI in medicine, including how these can be used for clinical trials, research, memory modifications, and learning.

In Episode 10, I discussed facial recognition software in the healthcare sector, focusing on both the utopian and dystopian aspects. On one hand, there has been a lot of controversies in terms of racial and gender bias and patient data privacy concerns. On the other hand, facial recognition holds great promise in the rare disease space where it can be used to detect facial characteristics that may be missed by physicians when making the differential diagnosis. It also holds promise for things like detecting abnormal moles, increased stress levels, and more.

I would love to know your thoughts on whether you think the pros outweigh the cons and where you see the greatest value of facial recognition software!
